Christmas Toy Lights Me (John Porter, 2006, super 8, colour, silent, 3.5 minutes) A one-shot Camera Dance, and a self-portrait, using
only the light from a miniature, Christmas village, toy display in the
foreground, and 10-second time-exposures on each frame. Shot at home
in 12 hours, over-night, 3 days before its premiere screening, Also, John shot two rolls simultaneously, in two cameras
side-by-side on tripods. Premiere - Friday, February 17, 2006 at the 4th annual Super 8 Circus with live musical accompaniment by jazz band GUH Innis Town Hall, 2 Sussex Ave., Toronto commissioned by the 5th University of Toronto Film & Video Festival (Feb.14-18) Thanks to the festival for providing all film stock, to Exclusive Film Lab for processing all films at cost price, and to Rick Palidwor for organizing this great programme every year.
